The Senior MEP Design Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for a variety of construction projects. This key role involves collaborating with architects, engineers and other stakeholders to ensure that MEP systems are efficient, cost-effective and compliant with project requirements. The Senior MEP Design Engineer also supervises the work of junior engineers, manages project timelines and ensures compliance with relevant codes and standards.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading the design and engineering of MEP systems for a variety of projects, including commercial, residential and industrial facilities
  • Developing detailed plans, schematics and specifications for mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
  • Ensuring that designs meet project requirements, including sustainability, energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Working closely with architects, structural engineers and other design professionals to integrate MEP systems into the overall project design
  • Coordinating with contractors and subcontractors during the construction phase to ensure correct installation and functionality of MEP systems
  • Participating in project meetings and providing technical leadership and expertise
  • Keeping up to date with the latest developments in MEP design, technology and best practices
  • Using advanced design software and tools
  • Applying knowledge of industry standards, building codes and regulations across all projects

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • At least 8–10 years of experience in MEP design and engineering
  • A proven track record of successfully completed MEP projects
  • Proficiency in MEP design software

Software you should be familiar with:

  • AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Duct Calculator (any software), HAP Calculator (Carrier), Hydraulic Calculator (any software), Microsoft Excel/Word, Microsoft Project, and any software for hydraulic design of water supply systems (e.g. EPANET)
